Fighting Bald Eagles Get Tangled Up in Power Line

Bald Eagle

The Earth is home to more plant and animal species than we can count. As humans, when we respect the land and the animals that live on it, we can all live together in perfect harmony. Of course, sometimes that’s harder than it sounds. Wild animals sometimes live up to their names and cause surprisingly dangerous situations for humans. Recently, two bald eagles got into a tussle in Canada that could have turned into a real disaster if not for the quick-thinking and calm demeanor of some very special people.

The Bald Eagles’ Talons Became Entangled

According to an Instagram post, the eagles’ talons became entangled while fighting, and they wound up stuck on a powerline.

“Our crews acted fast by safely de‑energizing the line to create the conditions for a rescue. @surreyfirefighters responded and worked with @owlrehab, bringing an OWL member up by ladder to carefully free the birds. Once their talons were separated, both eagles took off right away – uninjured,” the Instagram caption reads. “A great example of fast action and teamwork between our teams with a very happy ending.”

Seeing the bald eagle rescue amazed viewers.

“Love good news it makes me happy,” a viewer wrote. “And this rescue is good news.”

This person added a message of appreciation for the person who caught the rescue on video. “Thank you for your help, guys, and thank you somebody for having snapped the pivotal moment on camera!” They wrote.

This person had a different theory and things the bald eagles may not have been fighting after all.

“Locking talons and freefalling is a common mating ritual in eagles 🙂 they might have been more friendly than fighting,” they explained.

“It was likely a mating ritual. So glad it had a happy ending!” Another person agreed.
