Some people say that rain on your wedding day is good luck. If that’s true, it seems that Alex and Sarah Schilke will have plenty of it for years to come. Their Lake Geneva wedding took place at the Grand Geneva Resort. Although their ceremony went off without a hitch, the weather drastically changed by the time the reception started. The wedding was supposed to be outside during this portion, but an active tornado warning forced them to change their plans.

Guests and resort employees alike found themselves rushing to the basement… where a family reunion was taking place. Amidst the chaos of moving so many people to this space, the lights went out. More scared than ever, everyone huddled together, trying to make the most of the situation. But if Alex and Sarah were feeling disappointed by the turn their big day had taken, that quickly changed when a kind singer offered to perform so they could still have their first dance.
@jkjones5 A tornado in Lake Geneva brought a wedding party into the basement of the hotel where our family reunion was happening! They hadn’t had their first dance yet and I happened to have my guitar. The power was out so everyone put up their flashlights and we tried to give the bride and groom a special moment. I’m extremely grateful I was able to sub in to sing and congratulations to the happy couple! @Schilkus @Sarah Hipke #foryou #foryoupage #perfect #wedding #tiktok #tornado #edsheeran #musician #viral #blackout #lakegeneva #dancinginthedark #flashlight ♬ original sound – Jack Jones
Best of all, this kind man wasn’t even a wedding guest. Instead, he was in the basement for the family reunion. But as luck would have it, the singer, whose name is Jack Jones, had his guitar on him. Although he wasn’t able to play the song the couple had taken dance lessons for, he was able to deliver a sweet rendition of Perfect by Ed Sheeran.
