Charlie Junior Jackson’s mom has wanted a cockatoo for as long as she can remember. Her husband wasn’t as fond of the idea but went along because of love and all that mushy stuff. The couple adopted the 27-year-old bird to become a couple in their 20s, raising a bird in its 20s. It did not take long for Charlie Junior to determine that he was soul-mated to the man who didn’t really want him.
Charlie loves music, dancing, and being in front of an audience. If that audience is his favorite human and not the “spare,” he is much happier. The overprotective bird only displays his “evil chicken” persona when Mom is around. With Dad, he is attentive, affectionate, and doting.
Umbrella cockatoos are from the Indonesian islands. They are very intelligent and expressive. They are quick to interact with humans and other birds. When they are excited, their impressive crest fans out, much like an umbrella (hence the name). The white plumage is unmistakable, making them a favorite for movie and TV appearances. Charlie Junior Jackson is awaiting discovery with his profile page on The Animal Talent.
Although he may act like a spoiled only child, Charlie has two siblings, literally a tortoise and a hare. When the bunny gets too close during outside playtime, the cockatoo gives it an evil stare. The tortoise has not one single care in the world and wanders around having its version of fun.
