Even though he’s a pop icon, Elton John still loses bets just like the rest of us do. When he lost a bet with his pal Gary Lineker, Elton John sent a handwritten letter — alongside his repayment!
Gary Lineker and Elton were betting on a football game and, clearly, the bet didn’t go his way!

This is no trouble, though, because Elton John is good for his debts! He sent a sweet letter to Gary that read, “Sorry this is late! With Christmas, we were left a little short! Have a great new year. It was so great to see you. Thank you. Love, Elton.”
Can you imagine receiving a letter that ended with “Love, Elton”?! That would be seriously awesome.
Gary Lineker is the Match of the Day host and an ex-footballer. He bet on Leicester City, while Elton John bet on Watford Football Club.
At least the two pals can be amicable despite their football differences! Elton John is clearly a good sport, and I’m sure Gary is going to be holding on to that letter for many years to come.
