The mother of three recently took to Instagram to share her traumatic story with fans, hoping the awareness may save lives. As she recounted in the caption, she and her family were on vacation, and they were enjoying a nice evening together. Sadie was finishing dinner prep while Kit ate a snack in her high chair. All of a sudden, Kit began choking, and everyone jumped into action.

“Within seconds, you could tell the severity of the situation,” she wrote. “My mom pulled her from the high chair and placed my girl into my arms just as she stopped breathing.”

Sadie’s mother called 9-1-1 while the rest of the family ushered the other children out of the room. Sadie is “one of those people who likes to be prepared for all situations,” so she had watched several baby CPR videos. She said she immediately began performing CPR, and she knew God was with her, leading her through.

“I can only explain it now like my body just knew what to do; I felt God’s Spirit guiding me, partnering with me in what I had learned and seen,” she shared. “I remember saying out loud, ‘what do I do?’ and then immediately started doing it and declaring life.”

Sadie Robertson Huff’s Daughter Made a Full Recovery

Sadie recalled the moment that Kit began coughing and breathing, saying it happened just as the paramedics arrived. She rode alongside her young daughter as an ambulance drove her to the hospital. Her husband, Christian, followed close behind and said a rainbow formed above them.

“We stayed the night for observation,” she continued. “But she charmed the nurses just a few hours later and is now perfectly healthy, happy, and brightening everyone’s day!”

Kit is happy and healthy and made a full recovery. In a follow-up post, Sadie Robertson Huff shared that the incident happened “within the first hour” of the vacation. So they were all able to spend the week together, processing the trauma, and soaking “in gratitude and rest in the miracle.”

“Sharing this as a testimony, and also as an encouragement for everyone to learn what to do in the case of an emergency,” she added in her original post. “It happened SO fast, and I’m so thankful I was able to go straight into action!”

“We know that God has our children in His hands – we are not in control of our children’s breath or even of our own. We can’t live in a state of fear… we have to trust God in all of it. And also, preparation and knowledge in the spiritual and physical sense can be a gift that you can give yourself and your family! Please join us in thanking God for this miracle!”
