Located near Willow, Alaska, the structure is affectionately known by locals as the Dr. Seuss House. The original owner built the architectural wonder over 10 years until the time of his death, where it sat abandoned for another decade.
The story goes that the original owner built the house to gain a birds eye view of nearby Mt. McKinley. He happened to build the house soon after a forest fire, so many of the trees were new growth and shorter than the surrounding forest. As the trees grew and impeded his view, the innovative homeowner would build another level… then another… then another.
