You just never know where you’ll be when you spot the next potential ‘American Idol’ contestant.
Martin Stanton of Ireland may have discovered an unknown vocalist on the side of a country road, but instead of pop songs, this singer’s talents might be more suitable for opera.

Martin often takes photographs of the beautiful Irish countryside when he’s out for a walk, and on this brisk October Sunday he had his camera poised to capture the local flora and fauna. As he approached one favorite section of road, he came across the aforementioned singer and knew instantly he had to record a video of this talented individual.
Her name is Harriet.

Okay, so we fibbed a little bit. Harriet is not a burgeoning singer on the verge of being discovered by Simon Cowell… but she is an opera singer! Don’t let that cute, furry face of hers fool you; she’s a serious artiste.
If you don’t believe that a donkey could ever pass for an opera singer, Martin recorded a few memorable seconds of Harriet in action. The sound is like nothing we’ve ever heard before!

“I visited the beautiful Harriet today (Sunday 21st October),” Martin wrote on his Facebook post. “She could never hee haw like other donkeys but apparently she’s now an opera singer!!”
Martin shared his video of the musical Harriet on the Ireland from the Roadside Facebook page, where it quickly exploded with “likes” and shares. Everyone who saw it had a good chuckle of this rather gifted donkey. Who knew that Ireland’s next big superstar would be a donkey standing out in a field?
