Dolly Parton Teams Up With Pitbull For Epic “9 To 5” Remix And Fans Are Loving It!

Dolly Parton and Pitbull

Country music legend Dolly Parton has gone rogue! First, she recorded her first-ever rock album, and now she’s a charting rap artist.

On Friday, Feb. 16, Dolly dropped a Pitbull collaboration titled Powerful Woman. The song lives on Pitbull’s new album called Trackhouse (Daytona 500 Edition), and its hook brings in Dolly’s 1980 hit 9 to 5.

We’ll say it first (but we’re sure we’re not actually the first), Powerful Woman is super catchy. And music fans are telling her that in a roundabout way by downloading it by the masses. As of Feb. 28, the song reached no. 4 on the Billboard Rap Digital Song Sales chart after selling 1,616 copies.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of hearing Dolly Parton’s new classic, you can hear it below!

Dolly has made it on many charts throughout her 65-year music career, but this marks her debut on Billboard’s rap-only charts or any hip-hop-centric chart, for that matter. So Dolly Parton and Pitbull have officially made history!

As the title suggests, the song is about all the hard-working ladies in the world who are trying their best with “No man at home/Raising all the kids alone” who “No matter what/Never give up.”

“Now some of us/Are pit bulls too/We appreciate/The things you do/Thanks again for shining light/On the women that work/From nine to five,” Dolly sings.

Fans on X are absolutely shocked by the unusual pairing, but most agree that the single is fun and refreshing. So, like us, they’re playing it on repeat.

“Okay didn’t expect to open Spotify and see a new single by Pitbull and Dolly Parton…!” one person posted. “But it’s actually so fun.”

“This Dolly Parton Pitbull song is single-handedly saving my life,” another fan admitted.

We can’t wait to see what else Dolly Parton has up her sleeves this year!
