This cancer patient has been a fan of Dolly Parton for decades. Her music and her persona have served as an inspiration, especially since he received his cancer diagnosis. This Christmas, LeGrand got a treat he wasn’t expecting — a call from Dolly Parton herself!
“Hey LG, it’s Dolly P!” she sang through the phone.
Wow! Can you imagine waking up from cancer treatment to a call from queen Dolly Parton herself?
LeGrand’s wife provided some insights into the power that Dolly’s music and character has had on their lives. She even called out the impact of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library on their family when they had young kids.
Dolly Parton was extremely grateful for the opportunity to speak with the cancer patient.
“I’m just happy that we get to have our journey together in this lifetime,” Dolly said. “I’m happy to know I’ve touched your life in some way, so thank you for honoring me with that.”
It was a powerful and emotional video, and Dolly Parton ended it with a little song!
After telling LG that she’d always love him, she sang a lick of the Whitney Houston tune before hanging up. How incredible!
