Last week, Facebook user Nakia Robinson posted this video of a cashier with a phenomenal voice singing Maxwell’s “Ascensionâ€. The video, which she shot at a Dollar General store in Lansing, Michigan, has gone impossibly viral reaching several million views across platforms.

As news of the amazing singer began to spread, a local radio station picked up on the story and identified the talent as Lucas Holliday. Holliday was known for humming and singing during his shifts at Family Dollar, but when Robinson posted the video on her Facebook page the world fell in love with the unassuming, soul singer.
The video, posted just last week caught the attention of Good Morning America. They invited Holiday to appear on the show on the 14th and got an incredible surprise from the writer of the song. Thanks to Good Morning America, Hollucas hollidayliday will sing on stage with Maxwell at his show in Detroit this Friday.
The 26-year-old’s voice seems transported straight from Motown. He belts with a practiced finesse that simply takes our breath away. When LCC Radio in Lansing invited Holliday on the show to talk about his viral video, his reason for singing touched our hearts. He said he started singing at work to brighten the day of his customers… he never had aspirations for fame, but fame seems to have found him.
What a kind soul. He proves that no matter where you are, there is always something you can do to brightens people’s day!
