“Phodographer” Shows Us The World Through His Eyes Using Heart Rate Camera.

Grizzler the phodographer

Have you ever wished you could see the world through your dog’s eyes? Now, you can.

Nikon Asia has been hard at work on a project they call “Heartography,” and it’s providing surprising insight into the daily lives of dogs. Heartography begins with a special camera mounted to a dog harness that is triggered by the dog’s heart rate. So, if the dog sees something that excites them and raises their heart rate, the camera snaps a picture.

They enlisted a border collie named Grizzler to be their very first “phodographer,” and he did a pretty great job! It turns out, the things that make Grizzler the most excited are some of the most mundane: a bowl of dog food, a cat in the bushes, a patch of white mushrooms growing from the dirt. You just never know what might catch this canine street photographer’s fancy!

All of Grizzler’s best shots were edited into the video below. Take a look to see what Grizzler saw, and don’t forget to share.
