Taco Bell Drops Ice Cream Taco That Has Fans Drooling

When Klondike discontinued the iconic Choco Taco in 2022, it left many fans feeling disgruntled. For more than four years, they’ve longed for the nostalgic ice cream treat that reminds them of their childhood. Taco Bell heard the cries of Choco Taco fans and responded with something beyond our wildest dreams. Taco Bell and Salt & Straw partnered for the brand-new Churro Ice Cream Taco. “Last year’s collaboration showed us how much joy there is in reimagining a nostalgic favorite, and we’re thrilled to work with Salt & Straw to bring a new ice cream taco to Taco Bell restaurants,” Liz Matthews, Global Chief Food Innovation Officer at Taco Bell, shared in a news release. “The Churro Ice Cream Taco builds on everything fans loved about the original collaboration, with a flavor that feels right at home on our menu.”

The Salt & Straw Churro Ice Cream Taco at Taco Bell will remind fans of their favorite childhood treat. This time, the waffle cone is filled with Churro Ice Cream, covered in puffed rice, and dipped in decadent chocolate.

“We knew Tacolate was special, but the response completely blew us away—and our guests made it clear they wanted it to stick around,” Tyler Malek, co-founder and head ice cream maker at Salt & Straw, shared. “So when we had the chance to take the idea beyond our shops with Taco Bell, we wanted to dream up something completely new. The Churro Ice Cream Taco brings together what both brands do best, and we’re so excited for people across the country to finally get their hands on one.”
