In the early morning light on a deserted beach in Port Jefferson, New York, Freely witnessed an incredible act of kindness from his dog that’s been melting hearts all over the world.

The pup – who is decidedly a very good boy – approached a small animal struggling in the water. But his owner was shocked when he came swimming back to shore with a baby deer in its mouth.

Storm carried the fawn as gently as he could while the exhausted fawn waited helplessly for solid ground. Storm finally reached the beach and pushed the fawn to safety with his snout. For a moment, the fawn leapt to its feet and ran with all its might, but the tired animal collapsed a few feet from the water.
Storm spent the next few moments assuring the fawn everything would be ok. He nuzzled, and whimpered and did his best to let the fawn know he was right there to help.

Freeley called a local animal hospital who quickly came and scooped up the fawn. In a wonderful turn of events, the little one will be just fine. Three cheers for Storm and his owner Mark Freely!
