Every year during the holidays, Universal Orlando transforms part of their park into a delightful recreation of the Who-ville universe as envisioned by Dr. Seuss. This means, of course, that folks are welcome to a festive show based on Jim Carrey’s The Grinch — the official name is The Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular. While the human actors nail their performances, the dog who plays Max is quite the show-stealer, even managing to take the spotlight from the Grinch, who the play is all about.
One mom, Kel Warner, shares her experience watching the show on her Instagram page. Here, she shares highlights of Max during the show, noting that this adorable pup is hands down her favorite part.
Being an actor as a human isn’t easy, but being a dog who follows commands on stage is all the more challenging. Luckily, Max has the best trainer to help him out whenever he needs. Best of all for this pup, there are lots and lots of treats involved.
Adorable Dog Steals Spotlight From Grinch in Play
To keep folks in the audience from getting too distracted by the trainer, she stays hidden in a nook at the front of the stage. Here, she rewards Max with treats on a pole whenever needed. As you can imagine, this happens quite frequently.
“This show overall is SO GOOD but Max is the best part!” Kel shares.
Although there are some moments where Max seems to go a bit off script, for the most part, he’s able to follow instructions like a pro. Then, as soon as the show is over, this sweet little guy rushes over to his trainer, confirms the show is over, and runs across the stage, ready for what I can only imagine is a well deserved nap.
