Disney Announces New One-Of-A-Kind Theme Park & Resort

New Disney Park

Disney is expanding with a brand-new theme park, but you’ll probably need a passport to get there. The newest park, Disneyland Abu Dhabi, will be Mickey and friend’s first foray into the Middle East. The newest Disney resort and park will debut on Yas Island, an existing entertainment hub that attracts millions from the Middle East, Africa, India, Europe, and elsewhere.

“This is a thrilling moment for our company,” Disney CEO Bob Iger shared in a statement to People. He said the park “will rise from this land in spectacular fashion, blending contemporary architecture with cutting-edge technology to offer guests deeply immersive entertainment experiences in unique and modern ways.”

The New Disney Park Will Be Unique

Bob added, “Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be authentically Disney and distinctly Emirati — an oasis of extraordinary Disney entertainment at this crossroads of the world that will bring to life our timeless characters and stories in many new ways and will become a source of joy and inspiration for the people of this vast region to enjoy for generations to come.”

News of the new Disney Park received mixed reactions online.

Josh Damaro shared the news on Instagram. He captioned his post, “So excited to announce the seventh Disney Experiences destination around the world!”

Some people shared their excitement.

Like this fan who wrote, “I’ve been to Abu Dhabi many times and I’ve been saying for years that it’s the perfect place for a new Disney Park. It’s ranked #1 for safety, the best architects and engineers, has an endless budget and SO many Disney fans. It’s going to be truly spectacular!”

However, others disagreed and didn’t believe Disney had chosen the best place for its newest park.

“Endless possibilities? Like what? Being arrested for holding my boyfriend’s hand at the park? Women being prohibited of wearing shirts that shows their shoulders? What a disappointment, Disney. I had the goal of visiting every Disney resort in the world. Maybe not anymore. Specially travelling to a country where I could end up in jail,” a naysayer wrote.
