Tabitha Hayden and her husband Daniel were driving along a rural highway when they noticed a heartbreaking sight. They saw an older homeless man using a walker hobbling along at a snail’s pace headed toward a gas station. They stopped for a moment and offered him a ride, but when he refused, the most beautiful thing happened. Tabitha took to Facebook to describe the wonderful thing that happened next, and we think everyone needs to hear about it.

“We saw this man walking to the store along Hwy 11 so we stopped. He had a walker and 1 foot. Daniel asked if we could give him a ride and the man said no thank you, that he made it this far without help. So Daniel told him that he wanted to WALK FOR HIM!! The man let him. So Daniel put him on his back and carried him AND his walker!”

“I cried like a baby because when do we ever see human compassion anymore?! Especially in this town. But when does anyone ever take a few minutes out of their day to help someone or even just to appreciate the ones in their face?! I never see it anymore and my husband’s act of kindness from his heart made me see that and it humbled me. It made me realize how big of a heart he has and exactly how far he will go for ANYONE. Not just his family. But anyone. And that is the kind of man I’m blessed to call mine and so are our children. He is the kind of man I’m blessed to have teaching and guiding my children. I love you Daniel and I thank God for you everyday.”
