Most people get super-shy when they see themselves on the Jumbo Tron at a sports arena. We’ve seen marriage proposals, baby announcements via the kiss cam, and these hilarious twins dancing. None of that compares to this dancing man!

If you’re thinking, “Hey, that guy looks familiar…” you might be right. That particular dancing man is Cameron Hughes. OK, so the name isn’t familiar to you? His dancing at sporting events is legendary. Cameron is a professional speaker, crowd igniter, and entertainer. That’s right. Sports teams pay him to fire up the crowd and make noise.
Cameron has performed at roughly 1,500 sporting events worldwide. He’s not picky about the sport — he loves them all — or so it would seem when he launches into his dancing man routine. He has danced at five NBA Finals, two Olympic Games, three Stanley Cup Finals, and the US Open tennis tournament. Cameron is a Canadian by birth who has taken his dancing man routine worldwide, appearing at minor and major league arenas for almost every sport.
The Dancing Man Does More Than Dance
As a lover of all things cheer, Cameron said, “I hope my story will inspire you to cheer a little louder, smile a little wider, dance a little crazier, contribute to your team, be fearless, and most importantly, to GET UP and become your own biggest fan. I’m thrilled to take you on my journey and show you the true power of cheer.” His book, “King of Cheer,” came out in November 2020.
When he isn’t cheering at a sporting event, Cameron works as a motivational speaker. He speaks at high schools, business conventions, and just about anywhere a crowd needs inspiration. Cameron is your man when you want to keep a group of people engaged.
Cameron’s story proves that it is never too late to get up and dance! What started as a desperate attempt by a frustrated fan in 1994 to fire up the crowd became an “accidental career” spanning 30 years. Please share this with someone in your life who needs a little cheer.
