Dad Gets Kids To Make Dance Video For Mom And Their Moves Have Everyone Cheering.

Some families seem to get all the talent.

Emmanuel Hurd of Tulsa, Oklahoma and his three kids are going viral right now thanks to a short video that’s truly got it all: cute kids, beautiful music, impressive dance moves, and a very sweet backstory.

Facebook

Emmanuel is an actor and choreographer who has clearly passed on a few of his talents to his offspring. When he uploaded his video to Facebook, he likely had no clue that the whole crew would be going viral just a few days later. To date, his video has been viewed over 7 million times on Facebook!

“My wife is Pakistani & loves to watch hip hop dance,” Emmanuel wrote as a caption to the video. “She asked me to dance to music from her culture… so last Sunday I got our 3 children together to perform to a song that I felt represented a part of my culture (hip hop) & her culture as well.”

This blending of cultures makes for a truly fun video experience. It starts with the dad doing a very impressive hip hop dance while his three kids keep their backs to the camera. Then one by one each child takes his or her turn impressing the audience with their mad dancing skills.

The youngest boy is absolutely adorable. The way he looks up at his dad throughout the dance just melts our heart! He clearly adores his father.

Emmanuel’s daughter is up next, and she’s got the confidence of an older child who’s been around the hip hop block a few times. Yet the most impressive dancing comes last, when Emmanuel’s oldest son takes to the “stage.” Let’s just say that he’s really following in his dad’s footsteps — literally!

After the video took off online the family couldn’t have been more thrilled. Both Emmanuel and his wife Shazia Hurd said they’ve been overwhelmed by the positive attention they’ve received, and they hope it’s a sign that people want to see more diversity and culture in their viral videos.

“It has reached multiple countries & hundreds of people are messaging us about how it has blessed them and their families,” wrote Emmanuel on Instagram.

“This has been an awesome 4 days since my hubby posted the dance video with him and our babies!” Shazia wrote on her on Facebook page.  We have had an outpour of love, friend requests, and sweet messages (so sorry we haven’t responded to them all yet) on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We have had interracial couples, civil rights activists, actors/actresses, producers from all over the world thanking us for posting the  video. Our hearts are overjoyed and overwhelmed with love. Please remember: love is more than skin deep.”

That’s a great reminder, Shazia! It’s fabulous to see a family bonding over their love of music and dancing, and the fact that there’s a deeper message of love and acceptance makes this video all the sweeter. And it caught the eye of Ellen, who invited the whole family out to her show.
