It’s a cliche phrase, but laughter really is the best medicine.
Not only does the simple act of laughing or smiling relieve built-up tension in your muscles, laughter also releases endorphins, which, in turn, reduces stress hormones. When Autumn Moses had to go to Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, to treat her strep throat, her sisters were nervous.
Autumn’s doctor saw their worried looks as they waited in her room and decided to do something about the long faces.
Setting his phone on the hospital bed, he turned on some music and started to dance!
It didn’t take long for Autumn and her sisters, Winter and Kristlynn, to join in with Dr. Chima Matthew’s moves.
The siblings’ mom filmed the whole interaction and shared it online. People were quick to encourage this kind of treatment.
Being at a hospital is rarely a happy experience, and the fact that this doctor took time out of his day to put a smile on these girls’ faces is so special.
Since being posted by Wolfson, the video has been seen nearly 9 million times. Watch it below to see the joy Dr. Chima brought to his little patients.
