Country Legends Perform “Golden Girls” Theme

Blanche Devereaux, Rose Nylund, Sophia Petrillo, and Dorothy Zbornak are nothing less than iconic. The Golden Girls ran on NBC from 1985 to 1992 and gave us 180 hilariously heartwarming episodes. The second we saw that airplane fly over Miami and heard the words, “Thank you for being a friend,” we knew we were in for a treat. OK, who are we really kidding here? This isn’t past tense. We still watch The Golden Girls and find great comfort when we hear things like, “Back in St. Olaf” or “Shady Pines, Ma,” We’re transported to a warm and fuzzy place. It’s not just us. Country legends Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan agree.

Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan clearly love The Golden Girls and recently performed a live rendition of “Thank You For Being a Friend.” It’s clear that the women not only love the song, but the lyrics ring true to their friendship. Pam and Lorrie are currently touring the United States on their Grits and Glamour Tour, and hearing this song was truly a fan favorite. The woman posted a TikTok video of the performance with the sweet, simple caption, “Living in gratitude!”

Fans had a lot of gratitude for the women and loved hearing them sing the Golden Girls theme song live.
