If you visit Costa Rica, you will be amazed by the beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife. Colorful birds and reptiles can be seen in almost all areas of the country. Costa Rica’s coastlines on the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean make it a popular tourist destination.

Costa Rica also has an agricultural impact on the entire world. Producing sugar, coffee, pineapples, and bananas, this small country keeps the world supplied with these staples! The tiny country dedicates a substantial portion of its landmass to producing crops specifically for export.

The people of Costa Rica use their ingenuity to determine the best way to harvest and get bananas to market. While it may look odd, the video below shows bananas traveling on the “banana train” on their way to market. It appears to show a train of bananas floating across a roadway!

The Costa Rica “banana train” is actually a suspended cable. The cable circulates on a system of pulleys to move the bananas from one point to another during processing. However, if you happened upon this scene in your travels, we understand how it might confuse and amuse you!
