It was a nightmare scenario: Chy-Niece Thacker was on her way to a job interview when she was stopped by the police.

Did she do something wrong? Would she be late for her interview? It’s hard to imagine saying, “I got pulled over on the way here,” would make a positive first impression. In any case, the reason Officer Jenkins stopped her was because of a brake light problem. That simple issue could have led to a life-altering accident down the road, but the cop’s response ended up restoring her faith in humanity.

She was understandably upset when Officer Jenkins told her that both brake lights were out because she’d just had them replaced the month before! And that wasn’t all.
Chy-Niece explained to the officer that her local Firestone wanted to charge “$600 just to run a test on the wiring of the car.”
The officer could have just sent Chy-Niece on her way with a ticket, but instead, he decided to go above and beyond.

Chy-Niece wrote about the interaction on Facebook, saying:
[Officer Jenkins] checked the lights in the trunk and tapped them, but they didn’t come on. So he told me to pop the hood to check the relay box then asked me to get out to check the other one.
So Chy-Niece not only avoided a ticket, but Officer Jenkins also saved her hundreds of dollars at the auto shop – and he showed her what protecting and serving really meant!
