Impatient Toddler Defies Military Procedure, Suddenly Runs Into Arms Of Female Soldier.

Young Cooper Waldvogel waited impatiently in the crowd of a military reunion ceremony. Then he suddenly decided he had waited long enough to see his mom again. He probably figured cutting the wait short a minute or two wouldn’t make much difference in the grand scheme of things. After all, this was the first time he’d seen her in nine months, and really, what could they do, send him to Leavenworth?

So he did what any self-respecting little boy would do and broke rank and ran to greet her.

His 25-year-old mother, Kathryn Waldvogel, had just returned from Afghanistan and was waiting for dismissal along with dozens of other soldiers when the moment was captured on film.

“This is an awesome moment. A toddler doesn’t care about military procedures, standing in formation, or anything else,”read a Facebook post from KARE 11 News. “Not when his mom has just returned from 9 months in Afghanistan. Welcome home to members of the Minnesota National Guard’s Chisholm-based 114th Transportation Company!â€

“I was longing to hold him, that’s all that I thought about,”she recalled of the adorable incident that was captured on video. “He just kept smiling like he was in awe of me.”

“He kind of did the same thing for me,”said her husband, 26-year-old Adam, who just returned from a deployment to Afghanistan in December.

Cooper hadn’t had his parents together in the house 19 months! This young family definitely has some catching up to do.
