When Jay Copeland decided to try out for “American Idol,” he put everything he had on the line.
His graduate school program gave him an ultimatum: Stay in school and continue to study acting or audition for “American Idol” and lose his fellowship and funding. After a lot of soul searching, Jay chose to take a risk and pursue his passion for music. The decision wasn’t easy, but it’s already paying off!
So much was riding on Jay’s performance of “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours,” but you’d never know it by the confidence in his voice and his infectious smile! As celebrity judge Lionel Richie pointed out, it takes a lot of talent to take on a Stevie Wonder song so perfectly. So, to reward him properly, they had a very special surprise for him… the final Platinum Ticket for the season!
