1. Divyansh, also known as That Doodle Guy, discovered his love for comics through the newspaper ones he read as a kid.

2. He was a fan of a lot of them, but none of them could compete with Garfield.

3. “I would go to my local library and rent all Garfield editions and read them over and over again,” he said.

4. Inspired to create comics of his own, Divyansh started off by making humorous ones where the main characters were animals.

5. “I used to draw only funny comics at first with animals as the main characters because I found it easier to use them to express my thoughts,” he said.

6. After a while, though, Divyansh wanted to find a way to incorporate his love of wildlife photography into his work as well.

7. “Whenever I came across a unique picture of an animal, I used to wonder how was this photograph taken.”

8. “So it came to me one morning, why not use my love for doodling and create a wholesome backstory to these pictures,” Divyansh added. “And I have not stopped since!”

9. Whenever this talented artist needs new inspo, he heads over to Instagram and Pinterest to see what catches his eye.

10. Next, he spends some time brainstorming different background ideas for each one.

11. Once he’s chosen the image and written the dialogue, it usually takes two to three hours to actually draw the comic itself.

12. Each one is made to be as wholesome as possible, something he felt inspired to do as a means to escape worries brought on by the pandemic.

13. And although he now posts on Instagram on alternate days rather than every day, he’s managed to pace himself in a way that doesn’t lead to much burnout.

14. “I generally don’t feel burned out as the creative process of drawing comics is my escape from the real world and it’s how I am able to express myself. So rarely do I feel demotivated,” Divyansh said.

15. “I believe that I have this creative ability to write stories and these will last forever, even when I won’t!” he added. “I love the way I can dream up a story and turn it into comics. There are so many stories to tell; I just want to draw them all!”

The idea for Divyansh’s simple-yet-heartwarming comics came from his desire to escape the real world, but they’ve gone on to help countless people across the world. Each one serves as a reminder that, sometimes, even the smallest dose of positivity can change our entire day.
