When Christian Melton walked out onto the basketball court, many of her peers were still yelling and talking to each other. No one was paying any attention to the teen. They didn’t care that she was preparing to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
In addition to their indifference, another thing working against Christian was that she didn’t have a microphone. How could she possibly be heard over her classmates?

Well, what Christian proved is that when you have a beautiful and booming a voice like the one she possesses, you don’t always need a mic!
As soon as Christian began to sing, the gymnasium noticeably became quieter. By the end of the first verse, the room was dead silent.

Christian, perhaps without realizing it, effortlessly delivered one of the best renditions of the national anthems on the Internet. And without the aid of a microphone!

By the very end, the entire gym was loud once again. But this time, everyone was cheering for Christian’s amazing version of the national anthem. At the very end, she even earned a hug from an understandably proud friend.
