Chris Stapleton Sings Heartbreaking Cover Of “I Hope You Dance” For St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital

Chris Stapleton

Chris Stapleton’s 2020 cover of Lee Ann Womack’s I Hope You Dance is still bringing tears to our eyes today.

The Grammy-winning country star and his wife, Morgane, stopped by The Bobby Bone’s Show in 2020 to perform a duet of the single for St. Jude’s Radiothon.

The show recorded a video of the duet and posted it on its YouTube page during the fundraiser. It shows Chris Stapleton singing the entire song while Morgane joins during the chorus. The Tennessee Whiskey artist also strummed the guitar during the performance.

When the 2023 event kicked off on December 7, 2023, The Bobby Bones Show reshared the iconic duet to bring awareness to that year’s fundraiser.

The St. Jude Radiothon is an annual event that raises money for the Memphis-TN based hospital. The hospital does not bill its young patients, who often seek help for life-threatening, rare illnesses. The organization also focuses on cancer and autoimmune research. All the proceeds from the Radiothon go towards patient care, family assistance, and research efforts.

Chris and Morgane Stapleton are two of many country music stars, such as Luke Combs, Sam Hunt, and Carrie Underwood, who have lent their voices to the St. Jude Radiothon over the years through Country Cares. The program has raised nearly $1 Billion since its formation in 1989.
