Mom Finds Injured Cardinal And Records Sweet Rescue Story.

Some believe spotting a cardinal is a sign from a dearly departed loved one. Others say the red birds appear in times of trouble or celebration as symbols of hope and joy.

Whatever the case, Angela Buck of Marysville, Pennsylvania, considers her unexpected visitor a blessing. One April morning, the mom went to let her dogs outside when she spotted the beautiful creature standing in her driveway.

Angela kept her dogs inside, assuming it wouldn’t take long for the bird to fly away. When he didn’t, though, she decided to take a closer look. Something was wrong. She walked right up to the cardinal, but he didn’t budge, even when she touched him! He was alive, but dazed. So Angela scooped him up and made a call to a local bird rescue. All the while, the new friend she nicknamed Clifford sat calmly in her palm.

Her instincts were right – the woman who answered surmised he’d either been hit by a car or suffered a concussion after flying into something.

“She suggested I put him in a dark box in a quiet place for a couple of hours to let him rest,” Angela wrote. “She said to then take him back outside and try to help him fly away.”

Two hours later, Clifford was feeling much better. The moment Angela opened the box to free him, he jumped right out! But the bird didn’t take off right away.

After Angela picked him up again, he lingered for a few moments as if to thank her for helping him. Then, with a chirp, he flew to a nearby tree, where his rescuer bid him farewell.

What an incredible experience! Whatever happened to the cardinal, he couldn’t have ended up in better hands. As for Angela, we’re sure she’ll always treasure her memory of Clifford.
