This Texas toddler has taken the Internet by storm with her charming and enthusiastic drawl. The “Can I Pet That Dog?” video features a young child on a porch, hanging out with her parents, when an unexpected guest makes an appearance.
She reaches her hand out to “pet that dog,” but the creature isn’t a canine.
It’s a black bear!
She repeats her question a few times, filmed by her mom who is denying her request to pet the animal.
I couldn’t possibly dream up a cuter video.
The video also demonstrates the importance of appropriate interactions with wild animals. When you see a wild animal, do not just go pet it! Bears look awfully cute, as we know, but they are not particularly receptive to our affections.
