There are so many ways to honor a loved one at your wedding. For bride Amy Perry, this was through the release of monarch butterflies. While the idea was already amazing in theory, she had no idea just how perfect it would be until the big moment arrived. This was a special tribute to her late dad. That’s why she did so during the ceremony — it was a way to make it feel as though he was there.

Like Amy, you might imagine that once released, the butterflies would fly away. Or, perhaps, stick around to linger on some flowers. Instead, most of the butterflies made a temporary home all over the bride, making her look as though she were perfectly decorated with the monarchs! Best of all, though, the comfort these friendly butterflies provided felt like they were coming straight from her own dad. Watch this unforgettable moment, and the photos that came from it, in the video below.
But these beautiful creatures didn’t just land on Amy. A few landed on the groom as well as the bouquet held by Amy’s sister. In other words, Dad’s love was truly felt all around in that moment!
When Monarch Butterflies Land On This Bride, Her Wedding Couldn’t Be More Perfect
“The best accessory she could’ve worn that day,” someone writes in the comments, with another adding, “I was already crying and then my mom pointed out they’re concentrated on her other arm like they’re walking her down [the aisle.]”
“All those butterflies were him hugging her. The ones on the bouquet was him giving her the flowers. The one on her husband was the father’s blessing,” someone else points out. “These things aren’t a coincidence. He was there and he was proud.”
