If you live in an area home to species like mountain lions, coyotes, or even bears, it’s very important to keep a close eye on your pets, particularly the little ones. When it comes to wild animals, you never know what could happen. Denise Buchanan watched in horror as a mountain lion took her precious pup from her home.

“This was eight steps off of my front porch,” Buchanan said. “It’s not like I was walking my dog off leash and she was way up ahead and the cougar sweep down and got it. Like this is right off my front door,” she told KIRO.
The family’s doorbell camera caught the mountain lion stealing the small dog from the family’s home and walking off as if it were its own. Unbothered, Diane’s husband took off and chased the mountain lion until it dropped the dog and ran away. Miraculously, the small puppy survives, but it’s a moment that Diana and her family will never forget.
Denise’s Husband Saved the Dog from the Mountain Lion’s Grip
KIRO posted a video of the attack on Instagram, and followers could hardly believe what they saw. Many agreed that the Buchanan family got every lucky that day.
“Hoping for a quick recovery for that brave girl,” someone shared. “Dad was badass for going in for the rescue.”
Another person gave a helpful suggestion to keep little animals safe from mountain lions. “Spike collar and spike vests are so important for dogs to wear for places where wildlife live amongst us,” they wrote.
Others felt that it was the family’s responsibility to keep their dog safe.
“You live in the cougars territory! Don’t let your dog out alone! Pay attention! Better not kill the cougar. Keep a better eye on your small animals!” Someone wrote.
The adrenaline clearly kicked in for Diane’s husband. They all got very lucky that day.
