Most dogs like to chase rabbits, but this adorable dachshund would much rather be best friends with them! One owner shared the sweetest Instagram video of their pooch, named Clementine, sharing a carrot with her new buddy — er, bunny. In the clip, both animals look too cute in their matching pink bows. What an unexpected and wholesome friendship!
In the caption, the dachshund’s owner explained the story behind the rabbit in the clip. Apparently, the bunny had been found by the side of the road. Thankfully, this Instagram user decided to bring the animal home. In light of this situation, they also reminded their followers not to adopt a bunny for the wrong reasons.
“Especially with Easter coming up, I think it’s important to lead with a disclaimer that rabbits should never be given as Easter presents,” they captioned the video of the rabbit and the dachshund. “Far too many people get bunnies for their kids or others as an Easter present, not understanding how to properly care for them and then wind up giving them up or dumping them a few months later.”
Thank goodness someone rescued this poor bunny! Although their current home isn’t permanent, they seem to be doing pretty well. It helps that the rabbit has such a doting best friend in Clementine the dachshund!
