Oscar-nominated actress Sally Kirkland passed away at age 84. She spent decades in Hollywood, starring on stage and screen. Following her death, many stars paid tribute to the legendary actress on social media with photos and stories. Jennifer Tilly shared a touching memory of Sally on X.

“So sad to hear of the passing of sweet Sally Kirkland. We worked together on her last, and one of her favorite films, ‘Sallywood,’ where she gave a bravura performance as herself. She was funny, feisty, vulnerable and self-deprecating. She never wanted anyone to say she was gone. ‘Don’t say Sally died, say Sally passed on into the spirits.’ Safe passage, beautiful lady,” she wrote.

Sally Kirkland Touched Many Lives

Sally Kirkland’s body of work meant a lot to stars and fans.

“Devastated to hear of Sally Kirkland’s passing. She was an indelible character actor and red carpet icon who was never anything short of memorable. Her awards season campaign for ANNA, a powerhouse performance all should see, will always be the greatest,” an X post reads.

John Fugelsang shared his favorite memory of Sally on X.

“God bless the beautiful and brilliant Miss Sally Kirkland. Such a beloved friend and confidant; she came to so many of our live shows in LA; even to my kid’s 3rd birthday party. And oh the stories she had. Thank you, Sally, for making life and art more beautiful,” he wrote.

Prior to her death, Sally Kirkland posted a heartbreaking photo on Instagram asking for donations to a GoFundMe to help with medical expenses. A fan shared a loving message after hearing the news of her passing.

“Sending love and prayers rest in paradise. The great amount of talent and work , i will always remember her part in roseanne .. because she mastered that role . It was a role that covered a message in that time was not always talked about publicly. She had a way with delivery when it came to emotional roles. Sorry to her family and friends,” they wrote.
