Photographers in New York City spotted Aubrey Plaza holding her newborn baby on August 9, 2026. She was reportedly there to watch boyfriend Christopher Abbott’s final performance of “Death of a Salesman.” A source close to TMZ confirmed Aubrey and Christopher welcomed a baby girl in July. The new mom looked Chic on Broadway in a pair of jeans and dark sunglasses as she held her baby tight.

Aubrey Plaza Welcomed Her Baby More Than a Year After Her Hsuband’s Death
In January 2025, Aubrey Plaza lost her husband, Jeff Banea, 47, who died by suicide. That marked an incredibly difficult time in the Parks and Recreation star’s life. Following his death, she spoke with Amy Poehler on her podcast, Good Hang, about life after Jeff’s death.
“Right in this very, very present moment, I feel happy to be with you,” Aubrey said. “Overall, I’m here, and I’m functioning. I feel really grateful to be moving through the world. I think I’m OK, but it’s like a daily struggle, obviously.”
When news broke that Aubrey Plaza and Chris Abbott were expecting their first baby together, fans felt so happy for her. This new life felt like a fresh start that she so very much deserved.
“Before everyone judges about her former husband’s death: HE took his own life in January of 2025. HE DID THAT. She is now 41 yrs old. Maybe she really wants a child & she realizes nothing is promised & time is of the essence. Life is short. Mind your business,” a fan shared on X.
