There are some moments in life you never forget… like your first time seeing Earth from space! Ok, maybe that’s not exactly a common experience. However, astronaut Kellie Gerardi recently shared a video of her emotional reaction to this incredible sight, and it almost feels like we’re right there with her! You can really see the wonder on her face as she takes it all in.

“This brings me to instant tears every time I see and hear it,” wrote Kellie in her caption. “I almost didn’t share this online — I know it’s not the most ‘professional’ reaction… but it’s real, it’s raw, and it’s the human part of human spaceflight.”

We’re so glad she decided to post the video after all! Watching this astronaut freak out over seeing Earth from space for the first time makes us realize how incredible this moment was for her. It also reminds us that our planet is truly something special!

One of the most heartwarming moments in Kellie’s clip was when she gave a shoutout to her daughter, Delta.

“I promised my daughter I’d wave to her…” the mom wrote over the footage.

Commenters loved seeing Kellie’s precious response to viewing Earth from space for the first time.

“I absolutely sobbed when I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time,” wrote one user. “Seeing EARTH from space? I don’t think I would recover.”

Another wrote, “You’re such an inspiration! Not just to little girls but to all the moms!!”

This isn’t the first time that Kellie Gerardi has gone viral on social media. Earlier this year, she shared the most wholesome post about her best friend, who is also an astronaut. Not only did they support each other throughout their studies, but they were also there for each other’s first launches! How cool is that?
