Aspiring Country Singer Gets Crowd Amped With Grammy-Worthy “AGT” Audition, Watch

Reyna Roberts AGT

Nashville-based singer Reyna Roberts wowed the crowd and almost all the judges during her AGT audition during the Season 19 premiere.

The aspiring country star took the stage with her own band to perform a radio-ready original titled Raised Right. Before showing off her vocals, Reyna shared that the lyrics came to her while watching Star Wars one day.

“I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, this character was not raised right,’ and I was like, “Wait, that’s a great title. I’m gonna use that and then make it about my life,” she told Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sophia Vergara, who were all charmed by the tale.

After explaining the backstory, she called her band out, and they got the audience on their feet as they performed the catchy tune.

When Reyna Roberts finished the crowd went wild, and the AGT judges offered their opinions.

Howie Mandel was surprisingly unimpressed with Raised Right, which earned him a roar of boos. The other three judges, however, gave the singer major praise.

“You have an amazing voice. I love when you really belt it out; I love when you hold the note. I also love this look,” Heidi shared.

Sophia added, “I think you’re such a complete artist.”

“I think you know exactly where you’re going,” Simon gushed. “I am so thrilled, beyond thrilled, actually, that you came on this show. You have no idea.”

Heidi gave Reyna Roberts a “No,” but Simon, Sophia, and Heidi gave her a “Yes,” which was enough to keep her on the show. And she will likely be stiff competition for the other Season 19 competitors. Reyna has already released her first album, Bad Girl Bible, in 2023. She was also featured on Beyoncé’s cover of the Beatles’ Blackbird, which appeared on her Cowboy Carter album.
