It might not always be the healthiest option, but as the name clearly states, you can get fast food, well, fast. As much as we all want to pretend that we prep 21 meals every week for ourselves and our families, that’s just not the case. We also don’t always want to cook, so dining out is a nice option. A new survey by YouGov looked at Americans’ fast-food habits and their favorites in each category. It probably won’t come as a surprise that Chick-fil-A tops the category or that McDonald’s serves America’s favorite fries. What might be a bit more shocking is that a Five Guys burger is what most people crave over less expensive options.

Five Guys Will Cost You
If you’ve ever eaten at Five Guys, you know the food is very good, but it’s also high-priced. Many will argue that you get what you pay for, but is nearly $20 a meal per person worth it for a fast-food burger? In 2025, All Recipes named Five Guys the most expensive fast food in the country. Of course, prices vary by region, but there’s no arguing it’s a spendy burger joint.
Those who love the burger and fries don’t seem to mind the higher price. On a recent Instagram post, people sounded off about Five Guys.
“I haven’t had 5 guys in over 15 years. And I thought it was expensive 15 years ago so I could only imagine the prices now,” one person wrote.
“I don’t have good enough credit to take out a second mortgage to buy lunch,” another comment joked.
This person just said it nicely and simply.
“Way too expensive though sadly,” they wrote.
