Nearly Extinct Burger Chain Plans Huge Comeback

Hot 'n Now

In theory, fast food should be meals you can order and receive quickly and hopefully at a reasonable price. Drive-thru service is certainly a plus, and if the whole family can and will eat from the same place, that’s a huge win. We’ve seen plenty of restaurants come and go in the last several decades. Most of those that close become nothing more than a memory, but a select few want to turn their businesses around and make a comeback. Among those is the once-popular Hot ‘n Now restaurant based in Michigan. The company once had more than 150 locations, but as times changed, so did customers, and the business dwindled. But a new restaurant is breathing life into Hot ‘n Now, and fans love it.

Hot ‘n Now Hopes to Get Back to Its Glory Days

According to Burgerbeast.com, at one point, Hot ‘n Now, founded in Kalamazoo, Michigan, had more than 150 locations. The business focused on fast food at a great value, which it delivered. Taco Bell acquired the brand in 1990, and things began to suffer. Sadly, by the early 2000s, nearly all of the Hot ‘n Now locations closed. In fall 2025, the brand opened a brand-new location in Wayland, Michigan, to the delight of fans who had missed the brand.

WGRD reported more than 150 vehicles lined up to eat at the restaurant on its first day. The new facility created 35 new jobs, bringing both opportunity and delicious tastes to the area. According to the company’s website, this is just the beginning. They hope to stay true to Hot ‘n Now’s roots and bring back something customers love and miss.

“Hot ‘n Now is hiring. And (almost) franchising. Whether you’re ready to join the crew or own your own lane, this is your shot. The only question is: how do you want in?‌”
