When you have a Dalmatian puppy named Smokey, it’s only fitting to bring him by the local fire station! A family in Lynchburg, Virginia recently reached out to the Lynchburg Fire Department and asked if they could come by with their four-legged friend. Obviously, the firefighters were delighted to meet the little guy! Smokey and his family went to Station 1 last Wednesday for a visit.
Afterward, the LFD shared the story on Facebook, where they posted some cute pictures of Smokey around the fire station. His owners got a little tour of the firetruck, as well, according to WSET. They even got to wear their very own fire helmets!
“When a local family contacted us and wanted to stop by Station 1 for a visit and bring their Dalmatian puppy, we were more than happy to oblige,” read the caption. “So this morning, siblings Luella, John, Lucille and Margaret introduced us to Smokey, who seemed to have no trouble fitting right in with the crew, even though – as Luella informed us – he had the ‘throwups’ before they left home.”
Despite the small bout of indigestion, Smokey was reportedly on his best behavior during the visit. Photos show him getting plenty of affection from his hosts. Some of his human family members – particularly the children – were just as excited to be there, if not more.
“Smokey was a Very Good Boy the entire time he was here,” the LFD wrote. “And the kids had a blast climbing on the ladder truck and checking out the equipment. Thanks to their mom for coordinating the visit – we hope to see all of them again very soon!”
Other Facebook users gushed over the sweet photos of Smokey and his new friends in the comments section.
“Oh my goodness!!!! That’s the cutest thing ever!!!” wrote one person.
