Ecstatic Pup Meets Massive Pair Of New “Friends” With Tail A-Wagging

Image shows a German shepherd who wants to meet the new friends he sees in the park.

Some dogs are wary of meeting new people or other animals. Not so with Pumpkin, a 5-year-old German shepherd. She recently went viral for trying to make new friends with a “dog statue.” Yes, we know those are deer. So does Pumpkin’s mommy. However, this friendly dog thinks anything that is dog-shaped is a dog friend. Let her have this one.

Pumpkin’s mom wanted her fans to know that the friendly dog has real dog friends, not just statues. She has posted several videos showing Pumpkin playing happily with other dogs.

Pumpkin makes no distinction between a real dog and a statue. She doesn’t even notice that these are deer, not dogs. All she sees is two oddly still new friends. Bouncing and prancing around the two deer, Pumpkin desperately wants them to move.

We’ve seen similar things happen with other overly friendly dogs. Winter, a border collie, met a family of people statues and was waiting, not so patiently, for some pets. Maggie the pug has a dog statue best friend in her garden. The one thing all these happy dogs have in common is that they have no grasp of what is real and what is not. But seriously, how cute is Pumpkin?

Watching Pumpkin fussing at the fence, then climbing through to meet her new friends, is hilarious. She wants to play so badly and can’t figure out why these new dogs aren’t as excited as she is. Bouncing around the “dog” statue, Pumpkin is eager to play, but the deer has no interest.

If you want to see more of Pumpkin’s happy adventures and play dates, follow her on TikTok. She is the friendliest German shepherd on the planet.
