If ever there was a time for the stars to align, it would be on your wedding day. So, when Dory learned the Red Arrows would fly over her mom’s wedding venue, she simply had to reach out. In case you aren’t familiar with them, the Red Arrows are representative of the Royal Airforce. They are considered one of the world’s premier aerobatic display teams, in fact.

To show off the skills of the Royal Air Force, this talented team puts on all kinds of incredible performances. You can imagine, then, how thrilling it was to find out they’d be flying overheard on such a big day. There was just one issue: Dory wasn’t sure they’d turn on the beautiful trail of smoke the planes leave behind. She sent an email about it but was told it would be up to the team leader’s discretion. “A Red Arrows flyover on your wedding day is such a flex,” someone points out in reply to Dory’s viral video. Other commentors add, “I’m kind of obsessed with how the couple didn’t do a fancy pose they’re just happily waving like little kids” and “Red Arrows are one of the greatest things this great country has ever produced.”

Even though the Red Arrows weren’t required to do anything special for these strangers’ wedding, they did so anyway. It likely didn’t take much extra effort, but the impact it left will continue to be felt for the rest of their lives.

“I will never forget this day,” Dory shares and jokingly adds, “One way to get extra daughter points.”
