“My Dad Feeds The Ducks At His Work And Now They Know His Car”

Image show a flock of ducks fed by their "dad" every day.

Wild ducks hang out where there is water. That might be a local park or a pond next to your work parking lot. That is the case for Shann Brown’s dad, who started feeding the ducks where he works. Now they know his vehicle and come running. He carries a 25-pound bag of duck food in his truck for his little friends.

This dad adopted this entire flock of ducks, whether he knows it or not. Listening to him call for them is heartwarming. He seems excited to see them, and they are just as happy to see him. In addition to the ducks, a mated pair of Canada geese also has their home near the same pond.

One of the geese stops to have a brief conversation. The bird appears to be listening, as it nods at the right moments. Shann’s dad has been feeding these animals since the geese had babies. Now he is watching their little fuzzballs grow up.

Feeding animals or birds isn’t always recommended, but it is always rewarding. An important reminder comes from the comments in many videos of this type. When feeding any animal, ensure that you provide them with suitable food. This dad feeds his adopted ducks regular duck food, which can be purchased at most feed stores. An alternative would be to feed them cracked corn.

Foods like bread are not suitable for ducks because they provide empty calories. This fills the ducks up, but provides them with zero nutritional value. Fish and turtles love bread, too, but it isn’t good for them either.
