Entire Highway Stops To Stare As Blue Angels Soar Overhead

At two-photo collage. The first shows three Blue Angels planes fly straight up while side-by-side, leaving a trail behind them in the bright blue sky. They do so just above a line of trees. The second image shows a number of vehicles parked on the side of a road. People stand outside, looking up. One person stands in the bed of their truck. They use their phone to record up toward the sky

There are special perks that come with living in certain cities or states. For example, folks in Alaska can brag about their stellar views of the Northern Lights. Meanwhile, those near The Great Salt Lake can count on some of the most breathtaking golden hours. Then there are those who live in Pensacola, Florida — this is the home of the Blue Angels.

In case you’re not aware, the Blue Angels are the US Navy’s Flight Demonstration Squadron. In other words, their job is to showcase the skills and teamwork of both the Navy and Marine Corps. They do so through some of the most breathtaking flight demonstrations. They take these shows to a number of locations, but folks in Pensacola can see them practice quite often. In fact, people will literally pull over on the side of the road to watch them, as seen in the video at this link. Catch a glimpse at them in action in the video below.

“That would never get old. An air show on the regular?? Sign me up!!” someone writes in reply to footage of people pulling over their vehicles to watch the Blue Angels. Another person confirmed: “Used to live about 5 mins from NAS [Naval Aviation Museum], loved getting the shows.”

A Whole Line of Vehicles Pull Over in Pensacola, Florida to Witness the Blue Angels’ Free Show

According to the National Naval Aviation Museum, these practice flight demonstrations take place a number of times each month. In fact, you can find their schedule on their website. Notice that, after a select number of shows, the pilots will even take the time to sign autographs.
