90-Yr-Old Grandma Steals Hearts With Her Impressively Soothing Painting Videos.

Many people have shared their pandemic hobbies on social media in recent months, but few have made an impact as massive as this humble grandma!

Doña Lupita is her name, but many people know her as “Abuelita,” which means “grandmother” in Spanish. With some help from her niece, Abuelita now has more than a million fans online who can’t get enough of her artwork.

Abuelita is 90 years young and lives in San Diego, California. She took up painting in September 2020 as a way to pass the time during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Impressed, her niece started a few social media accounts to share pictures and videos of Abuelita at work, and they were an instant smash hit. One of her most watched videos has a staggering 30 million views!

The talented grandma adores the attention she’s received online, and it’s encouraged her to sell prints of her artwork.

Each print features one of Abuelita’s abstract paintings – complete with her digital signature! She employs many different methods to create her splashy art, including a string method she developed to make delicate flowers.

The largest painting Abuelita has made so far is a 24-by-30 canvas called “Lost in the Ocean,” but her family simply calls it “the big one.”

When she’s not painting, Abuelita enjoys other creative pursuits like knitting and cuddling with her dog Tajin. She also spends a lot of time with her niece, who runs her social media pages. Her nephew gets to appear in some of her videos and photos as well.

All of them are delighted by Abuelita’s newfound fame. “Thank you for the love and support you’ve given Abuelita!” they wrote online. “May this new year be filled with new adventures and happy moments.”
