8-Year-Old Solves Delta Airlines Problem, But An Executive’s Response To His Letter Is Too Great.

Ben Treider is an 8-year-old boy with an innovative and passionate mindset. After learning about the tragedy of Malaysia plane MH370, and its disappearance, he was inspired to do something about it.

So he went to work coming up with his own design. His sole goal was to prevent losing planes after crashes.

Using paper and a pen, Ben came up with an apparatus that would locate missing planes… especially when they crash into the ocean.

The next step: With a photo of his diagram attached, to write a letter to Delta describing his idea. And he sent it right to the top; To Delta Air Lines’s CEO, Richard Anderson.

You’d think getting a response to this young boy’s outreach was pretty unlikely, right? Wrong! Just a few weeks later, Ben received a well-thought out letter from none other than President of Safety, Security, and Compliance, John E. Laughter.

Dear Benjamin,

Thank you very much for sending your idea about locating airplanes to Richard Anderson. I am responding to you on his behalf.

As the head of Safety and Security at Delta Air Lines, I work with many Delta people, the Federal Aviation Administration, and airplane manufacturers to solve problems such as airline tracking in an emergency. There are lots of experts thinking about ideas just like you sent us. I will make sure to share your planes with them! Thank you for for thinking of us.

Who would’ve thought! But that’s not all the exec. did for Ben. With his letter came a bunch of “swag” from the airlines. Ben was so excited about his gift that, as his mom told Fox News, that he started jumping up and down saying, “I got Delta! I got Delta!”
