5 Reasons Adult Bird Camp Is The Adventure You Didn’t Know You Needed

The days of summer camp were ones of wonder and excitement, and I’m sure they bring a touch of nostalgia whenever you think of them. However, those days don’t have to be over! Bird lovers rejoice, as you can participate in adult bird camp!

This program is available through the Audobon Society and occurs in Maine with the Hog Island Audobon Camp. TikTok user Ashley Holmes recently shared her experiences at adult bird camp, and highlighted some awesome activities!

Sure, the first day of bird camp involves a few activities, but the first and foremost is taking in that amazing Maine scenery. The trip to Hog Island, and the view from the campsites and surrounding areas is a wonder to behold. 

Though Ashley was up a bit earlier than I’d typically prefer, there are few things as refreshing as breathing in crisp morning air with a cup of coffee. Pair that with a morning birdwatching hike, and you’ve got me on board!

They had me at puffins. Need I say more? These stout little birds are adorable and charismatic, and adult bird camp includes viewing them. Sign me up!

I love a good bird, but part of the allure of nature is the potential to spot other types of wildlife as well. As Ashley shares in this video, you can often spot other Maine residents in the area. 

I’m a huge fan of hiking, and some of my favorite travel destinations include opportunities to hike. This adult bird camp provides opportunities for a multitude of hikes, as we see in Ashley’s video of her experience. 

I think that one of the most important aspects of life is experiencing new and exciting places and activities. I don’t know about you, but this adult bird camp seems right up my alley!
