5 Female Celebrities Who Are Using Their Fame For Good

We admire celebrities for a lot of reasons, including their looks, their talent, their fame, or their fortune. That’s why it’s so incredibly refreshing to see superstars who use all of those things to benefit others.

These five celebrity women have made sure to use their good fortune to help those who are not as well off, and they are warming our hearts through and through.

1. Blake Lively

In 2018, the actress gave a heart-wrenching speech about the horrors of child sexual exploitation in the digital age at Variety magazine’s Power of Women event.

Lively promoted the organization Child Rescue Coalition, which uses technology to identify predators, abusers, and people exchanging explicit material containing children. According to the organization’s website, they “collect and index 30 to 50 million reports of online users trading child sexual abuse material every day.”

2. MacKenzie Scott

Scott, who is the ex-wife of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, has given away over $8 billion of her $60 billion fortune to nonprofit organizations, especially educational institutions.

She and her current husband, Dan Jewett, also signed The Giving Pledge to give away most of their wealth during their lifetime.

3. Taylor Swift

The multi Grammy-winning recording artist has a long history of generosity, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although she has made some donations publicly – like the $1 million she donated to Nashville tornado relief efforts in March 2020 – Swift frequently gives away large sums of money to people quietly. In March 2021, for example, she donated $50,000 to a mom of five who had just lost her husband to COVID-19.

4. Lizzo

The incredibly gifted artist behind “Truth Hurts” has donated her time and talents to several organizations since her rise to fame.

Most notably, she performed at a benefit concert in 2019 put on by the suicide prevention organization To Write Love On Her Arms and volunteered at a food bank in Victoria, Australia, while the terrible wildfire was raging.

5. Naomi Osaka

The tennis champion has been using her fame and fortune to help others. In August 2021, she donated her prize money from a tournament toward earthquake relief in Haiti.

At the end of May 2021, she incurred a $15,000 fine for skipping media appearances for her mental health. Osaka asked that the amount of her fine be donated to charity, and the meditation and mindfulness app Calm donated that amount on her behalf.

These celebrity women are going above and beyond for those around them, and we’re grateful they’ve shed light on these causes.
