4-Week-Old Wolf Pup Practices Their “Awoo” In Adorable Video.

A baby wolf stands in a wooded area, leaves all over the ground. Their face is up toward the sky as they howl.

All modern dogs are descendants of wolves. This fact isn’t new to me, but I still can’t help but be a bit surprised, sometimes, when I’m reminded of just how similar these creatures still are to each other. Take, for example, this adorable video captured by Voyageurs Wolf Project.

This University of Minnesota Research project aims to study the lives of wolves during the summer in the Minnesota region, something that can be surprisingly challenging do because of the abundance of dense vegetation during the warmer months. Thanks to this project, though, they’ve already learned so much. Plus, they’ve captured lots of aww-worthy footage.

In this particular video, a 4-week-old wolf can be seen exploring a wooded area. In the distance, another wolf can be heard howling. This prompts the baby wolf to do their best to mimic his friend in the distance — and the results are too precious!

Watch this sweet baby wolf practice their howling in the video below.
