There is nothing in the world quite like the bond between fathers and their daughters. Those daughters who are lucky enough to be raised by dads who love them and care for them know that Dad’s love is unconditional and oftentimes larger than life. This incredible artist, a painter named Snezhana Soosh, has captured that special relationship in a series of watercolor paintings.
She portrays Dad as a massive figure with long, curly hair and a bushy beard. He and his little pigtails-wearing daughter are always spending time together. Napping, adventuring, playing, cooking… Each painting captures a different scene. Each is full of love and closeness. She told Huffington Post that her art didn’t come from a place of deep love for her father; rather, it came from a place of deep want. “I always wanted to have a tender and loving relationship with my own father, but he didn’t know how to show his love so most of the time was distant and cold,”Soosh said. “I was observing other fathers with their daughters and so loved each tender moment they had together. I think I drew what I lacked and very much wanted – to feel loved and protected by my big papa.â€
Knowing that this artist was literally painting her dreams makes these pieces even more touching. Soosh is a mother now to a young son. Her father/daughter scenes reflect the love she has for her son as well as the love she still wishes she had shared with her father. Check out her beautiful work below.
