2-Yr-Old Nearly Drowns At Birthday Party, But Cop Swoops In To Save His Life.

A police sergeant saved a toddler's life.

A little boy owes his life to an astute police officer after nearly drowning in a swimming pool. During a birthday party, the two-year-old went into the water without wearing a life vest. His mom hauled him out of the pool as soon as she saw what had happened, but the toddler’s breathing and pulse had unfortunately already stopped! Thankfully, Sgt. Troy Truett was there in a flash to perform CPR on the child. According to WYMT, the boy was soon breathing normally.

Kentucky’s London Police Department recognized the sergeant’s actions on Facebook.

“Sgt. Truett’s selfless act of heroism deserves recognition and gratitude from both his local community and society at large,” reads the post. “His dedication to public safety and his quick thinking in the face of a life-threatening situation serve as an inspiration to us all. Sgt. Troy Truett will be receiving the Life Saving Award and Medal for his actions.”
